What is the HUBZone Certification Program?
The HUBZone program helps to aid small businesses in economically distressed areas. These designated areas are known as ‘Historically Underutilized Business Zones.’ The HUBZone Program encourages job growth, capital investment, and economic development in these areas, including Indian Reservations. For a business to benefit from this program, it must be HUBZone certified and invest in and hire at least 35 percent of its workforce from marginalized communities. In 2018, the number of contracts awarded to HUBZone companies increased, resulting in more than $9 billion streaming into undercapitalized communities across the country.
Why is Seal Company HUBZone Certified?
The HUBZone program aligns with Seal Company’s expansion goals, allowing us to serve even more state and federal agencies. It also aligns with our mission to bring positive change to our communities by providing employment opportunities in these underserved communities. The federal contracts HUBZone small businesses earned in 2018 supported an estimated 52,000 jobs.
